I want to spend about a thousand dollars or less to buy shares or something similar. i dont know how this would work but looking for some extra income!
What is your goal? How much of a return are you looking for? What is your risk tolerance?
With most stocks, you only make money once you sell the stock. A limited number of stocks will pay dividends – but even really high dividend paying stocks are currently paying well under 10% (that would be less than $100 per year with your investment), and most of them are prohibitively expensive for your investment amount.
The highest potential dividend payers are going to be REITs (Real Estate Investment Companies) as they are statutorily required to pay out a very high (90%) of profits to their shareholders. This is a bit risky right now, as most REITs are currently not profitable due to the tumultuous real estate market. The ones that are profitable tend to be in the prohibitively expensive range for your investment amount.
You would need to get a brokerage account and purchase the shares through your chosen broker. Most inexpensive online brokers will have research tools available for their customers. You will just input the criteria that you are looking for, and the research tool should give you a list of stocks that meet your criteria. Just keep in mind, that most brokers will charge extra for odd lot trades (ones that are not bought or sold in 100 share blocks).
I’ve linked to a Motley Fool article that lists off what in their opinion is the best dividend paying stocks of last year.

Yes… but before buying business part you have to ensure that the part is profitable.
If they make money, so will you.
it only works if the buisness is successful

I’m thinking about opening up a busniess which will be a cafe and bookstore. Can I start a business at 16?
Yes, you can start own business.
As long as you can get a business account and have plenty money, then potentially you could
but at 16, what are your skills, knowledge and experience to open and run a business

Me and two friends are wanting to start a small business just doing odd jobs like gardening and painting and decorating, also two of us are qualified in bricklaying and electric installation, we are only wanting to do it Thursday – Sunday as we are still studying,
I was just looking for some guidelines on how we could start as im nervous that people may be put off the idea of having us do work for them because we are all 19 years old and in todays climate people don’t trust younger people
Your ‘selling point’ is the fact that two of you are qualified – you don’t have to advertise your age! If you can do work for friends/’friends of friends’ you should be able to get some decent references, which is what people will be more interested in than your age.
Advertise yourself with some neat, smartly-written cards which can usually be displayed free on the community boards of supermarkets, or for a small fee in newsagents’ windows; on local websites (usually free); and in local papers (often free/low cost for small traders).
Have a look at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/selfemployed/tmas… to check you are staying on the right side of the taxman.
Use this basic checklist to make sure all the important steps are taken before you launch your new venture. This business checklist will make sure that you cross all your t’s and dot all your i’s before your business launch.

People are going to be put off by your age, but not for the reasons that you give. It isn’t because people don’t trust young people, it’s because at 19 years old it is simply impossible for you to have much experience.And "qualified" is not the same as time-served.
Start by trying to get a few jobs from people that you know – friends, relatives etc. Word-of-mouth is one of the best forms of advertising, so ask people that you have worked for to recommend you.
Try delivering flyers in your local area, and make sure that your address is on them – people like to use local tradesmen and they don’t like tradesmen who only give a mobile telephone number. If you supply your home address it inspires trust.
Silly little things can put people off: never turn up wearing anything with daft slogans, don’t wear a t-shirt or cap with a brewery logo, don’t have a really loud and irritating phone tone etc etc.
And little things can inspire confidence: If someone asks you to go and take a look at a job, always take your work boots off before you go into their property.

Okay this might sound a wee bit stupid but …
How can i own ( be the manager of) a big department store like debanhams, or sports direct, marks and spencer…
obvisously i need to complete a degree in business management at uni ,but them what…
full description please?! thanks
While the responsibilities of any business manager can vary wildly depending on the business type, the quality of the supporting workforce, and the particular issues an individual operation faces in the course of a normal day, there are a few general things every business manager can expect to deal with each day.
As with most careers, a certain amount of specialized training is most often something any potential employer looks for on every resume they receive. However, this does not necessarily mean that anyone who desires to become a business manager must first obtain a bachelors degree or more to be considered qualified for a business manager position.
Depending on the business being applied to, applicants may find that a high school diploma or the equivalent of one, along with the successful completion of some sort of concentrated secondary educational courses, can often be enough to get the attention of employers.
The following characteristics should be a business person:
-A University business degree;
-Capital
-Courage to start business;
-Entrepreneurship;
- Visionary;
- Ability to read human mentality to understand their needs;
-Competitive;
etc.

i want people to be able to find me when they are looking for a lawn care provider
what makes your lawn care biz better than the ones in a 3 mi radius?that is your most important
thing to know.
one IDEAL consideration;find the worst 3 lawns in your area.Get in writing, a letter from them
and 3 other things [decide what they are] where you will make their lawn eligible for awards
in exchange for your services.
NO ONE is doing that…………..make their houses shine and your biz will shine
and put the difference with pictures on Facebook!
look for web designers -
get online and search for it there are tons of sites that explain how to do it

I’m going to sell something for $300 later and I want some pretty good tests to tell if the $100 bills or $20 bills are fake?
no quick way;
there are some dyes in real money and some hidden faces within them.
why bother with going through the screening?Accept credit cards and pay the 2-3% fee for their
insurance.

I work at a lumberyard that has a chain of 5 stores. It’s my first job and they started me out at 7.50 and after 8 months I asked for a raise and they gave me 8.00. Is this small for a mill hand?
depends on how much lifting you do?
the fact that you asked for a raise and got it says somebody there must like you.

Well I’m having a problem, I want to go to a dog training program but its not technically a school or college, its a business that teaches/apprentices for 2,000$.Does Anyone know how/where I can receive funding for this? a loan,grant,financial aid? My credit is crap and i have no co signer so I cannot get a personal loan from a bank. I’m open to any ideas.
Raise money by selling your stuff on craigslists or through ebay classifieds. if you have a job you could take so much out of each check and save that way or ask to borrow it from someone. you can only get grants and financial aid through a school.
