I was looking to start up a small fried chicken restaurant with my husband. I have a basic plan down, however no one seems to want to give me any information on how much it will cost to open one up or where to go to get the supplies I need to start my business ( food wise). I have a good location where their is no fried chicken restaurant located in that town. Their are a few businesses for sale, however if anyone can give me a little direction it would be great. I have a fabulous menu planned out and I think my business could be a great success. Any help would be great!
You are the only one that can figure that out as every situation is unique. Go to http://www.score.org/template_gallery.ht… and download the Excel template for estimating startup costs.
Go to http://www.score.org/mentors and enter your zip code. On the next screen, you will get information on the nearest SCORE chapter. Call them and arrange for a free meeting with a volunteer SCORE mentor. They will guide you through the process.
SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide and is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
SCORE has 350 chapters in locations throughout the United States and its territories, with 13,000 volunteers nationwide. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate time and expertise as business mentors.

I work at Sears and we have this program where we offer a FREE in home consultation to home owners for a free estimate for bathroom, flooring, roofing, windows, healing and cooling everything. but its hard to get people attention we i ask them.
i usually say "i can offer you a free gift if your a home owner" but that usually leads to a dead answer. i need something to catch their attention and make them interested. Can anyone help me and maybe tell me how you would like me to ask you if you were a customer.
you would think it would be easy to offer something free to someone
You aren’t offering a service, you are offering to have someone come out and do a hard-sell on people. And just about everyone knows this. The only people who would be mildly interested in this "service" would be people who are interested in remodeling or upgrading their homes. And Sears isn’t the only place that offers this.EVERY contractor offers free estimates.
So you are not offering anything special. What’s more, if someone representing Sears (or another department store) calls me up because I have done business with them, that’s the end of our business relationship.
Offer something of actual value to the customer, and you’ll get more customers wanting this service. As it is, though, you aren’t offering anything extra, just the standard service. And if you are cold calling people on the phone, then they almost certainly aren’t going to use Sears as their contractor.
A free gift sounds usually implies that you are offering something in return for a purchase or participation in an offer. Approach customers by saying something along the lines of, "Excuse me, can I interest you in our free home evaluation services?" If they ask what you mean, say, "Sears offers free consultation for your bathroom, flooring, windows, and other needs. We can give you a price estimate for the cost of customizing your bathroom or other aspect of your home." Remember to be courteous and avoiding being pushy. Shoppers hate pushy salespeople. Be informative and answer all questions customers have. Good luck!

eg.3 for 2, how much would i save in buying 12 identical bottles of shampoo priced at £2.35 each?
Take a piece of paper and a calculator with you to the shop.
First multiply 12 x £2.35 on your calculator and write the amount down on the paper.
Then you multiply the 3 for 2 price by 4 and subtract it from the above amount.
The difference is your saving.
if you bout 12 bottles at £2.35 it would come to £28.20
since you get 3 for the price of 2, it’s basically buying 2 and getting 1 free you would save £9.40 and it would cost you £18.80
so you’d be getting each bottle for £1.56.6r rather than £2.35
some deals are just a plain scam to get you to buy more than you really intended to, the buy 3 for the price of 2 is only good if it’s a product that will keep and that you use.
other deals are drawn up to entice you into thinking your getting a huge bargain but your really only going to save a few pennies, like if somethings £1.45 each and it says in big letters, 2 for £2.80 your only really saving 10p, but if it’s a product you use your not going to be doing the maths on every purchase and since it’s a product you use you will think it’s a huge bargain.
The best thing to do is take your time, you have all the time in the world! and work out with a calculator and pen and paper exactly what your saveing, and if you really need to have more than 1.
if it’s a product that you use on a regular basis and you have space for it, and it’s on sale, get it, if not there really just not worth spending the extra money on. consumables like toilet rolls, tooth paste, shampoo, soap etc is worth it when there is a sale on.
2.35 x 12 is 28.20. 2.35 x 2 is 4.70 for two bottles. So you’re paying 28.20 for 12 bottles of shampoo without the sale. With the sale, you are basically getting four free bottles of shampoo if you were buying eight bottles of shampoo. So 2.35 x 8 is 18.80.Therefore, 28.20 – 18.80 is 9.40…. is how much you would save. Shabam.

Adding a reasonably high enough tariff to all imported products would eventually even out the opportunities for American manufacturers, so that they could compete globally with foreign entities.Doing so would also lessen American businesses from going overseas, and keep them at home, which would thus drastically improve domestic employment.
well lets see. Herbert Hoover must have believed the same thing, he implemented something called the Smoot- Hawley act that raised tariffs on thousands of items coming into this country. it had a disastrouseffect on the U.S economy and is much to blame for the great depression of the 1930;s .
the US and Europe has played that game for 150+ years.
it is one way but our main ENEMY is COMMUNIST China;if we take all our biz from them
we have 100% employment over night but then, the Communists may send bombers over and
bomb us……….This is exactly what our defense dept is trying to manage to stay away from.
Al Queda is nothing compared to C China

I dont know what I should change my major to?
Okay, So I am in college for Art Education. I have always wanted to work with children and I have also always enjoyed art since I was a child myself. I do all kinds of arts and crafts with my children. I also let them do their own little versions of Pollock paintings and they love it. And i believe all children do…if it is encouraged.
My question is… Should I change my major and to what? I am more lost than anything. I am not really interested in going to school for art education at all. The sound of being an Art teacher is pretty temping but, What I would really love to do is open a small arts and crafts center for children and just hope that I would get some business in there. I could do stuff like this everyday for the rest of my life and be completely happy with what I am doing. I do have an adviser at school, but she just tells me to stay where im at basically. I have also heard people saying I should just continue on with the education in art because an arts and craft center wouldn’t go anywhere but I think they are wrong. There is nothing for young children around this area so I am thinking that parents would love to bring their children in. If I were to change my major what would it be to? Would it be a business degree???…
I suggest you stay with art education. When you open your little kid’s art emporium, you will need the credentials. You don’t need credentials to run a business … just a lot of desire to make it work.

I am a junior in college, Computer Science major, ISTJ personality type, and just recently have been having doubts. I’ve been losing interest in CS and I think it’s because I don’t really have a strong desire to constantly solve problems. Any career test I’ve taken always result in computer programmer or accountant (or something in those fields). I’m starting to wonder if accounting could be right for me, I just know absolutely nothing about the field. I know accounting is supposed to be the most boring job, but I’m so introverted and enjoy doing routine tasks I feel like I would enjoy crunching numbers in a cubicle not having to deal with people. Anyone in this field with any advice?
hi
i am a college teacher of biz and invented the upside down income statement for those who need to do
a future income statement and know what net profit they need.
"I know absolutely nothing"? about accounting.OK. In a minute, you will!AFTER the above statement,
all businesses need to know several things……they need to know "what do I need for my biz to succeed???"
and………what is the status of my biz right now, economically??
an income statement denotes sales,
returns
all expenses
salaries
what the owner pockets and
income taxes owed and paid
and income after taxes
a balance sheet is assets minus liabilities = owner equity
so what?
what you put in your pocket in the income statement is similar to the assets of the firm
what you payout in expenses is similar to the liabilities.
what you pocket is similar to owners equity.
the objective in for profit biz is
having the most net profit before and after taxes
and
the largest amount of equity………
does that help?
for those who "farm out" their accounting, that is ok but make sure you get a mini update DAILY.
every 30 days is …………..w ay too late!!!!!!!
finance is neat in that it shows you how different uses of money provides different returns.
for those natives of the nation of Singapore, they think 4% return on their money is good.A venture
capitalist in the US thinks below 100% stinks!
can guide you furteh
and I do have no final statement……….do NOT concern yourself whatever, with a career at your age.
Thnk of a learning adventure………and it will grow and change as you do.
I am an expert in 3 fields yet when I got out of HS, I had the 2nd lowest average in the school’s history
we all mature at dif levels and speeds………
