How and where can you get a separate policy on a utility trailer

January 30th, 2012

Why not add it to your vehicle coverage that will be pulling it?I write a lot of estimates for damaged trailers, and it can vary from state to state, definitely check with your car ins. agent and also with your homeowners ins. agent as it changes. ie; your car insurance may not cover it if a tree falls on it. Or if you are a contractor and your trailer is damaged or broken into on the job site. Many variables to consider check them all out before towing. I have seen too many people with big money wagons lose out just because they didn’t check their policies.

Am I covered if an uninsured person who does not have a learners permit is driving my son’s car and has an accident

January 30th, 2012

No, you are not covered and neither is the unscheduled, unlicensed driver. Unfortunately though, since your insurer is also financially liable for certain of your negligent acts, such as, allowing an unscheduled and unlicensed driver to operate your insured vehicle. They may have to pay for the damages resulting from your negligent acts. This should not be confused with the fanciful idea that the unlisted and unlicensed driver was ever covered by your policy. If they have to pay the claim, your Insurer may justifiably decide to cancel your policy due to negligence.

If you are moving to another state how can you change your automobile insurance

January 30th, 2012

If your insurance company is a nationwide company, simply update your address with them. If it is a smaller company that does not have coverage where you are moving to, then find a new insurance carrier where you are moving to, then cancel your old one.

Will insurance cover you when you drove your car into a swamp

January 29th, 2012

Not unless something you did was specifically excluded from the coverage you are placing a claim against. If you did something that resulted in a claim and a reasonable person would or should know not to do such a thing because it would result in the damages that were cause, it may be something excluded due to the damage being intentional. If it’s not excluded and you just did something really dumb you may get your claim paid but you also may be looking for another insurance company when your policy comes up for renewal.

Does comprehensive coverage for auto insurance cover a hit and run of your parked car

January 29th, 2012

yes it does but you will be claiming off your own insurance and may loose your no claims discount if you have one. Yes it can be used but the deductible WILL apply, and your rates may increase if you put in a claim. (as unfair as that may sound)Note: There are comments associated with this question. Do you have to give a statement to the others insurance company if no police were called

January 29th, 2012

“>Important: Always default to your own insurance company for this . If the other insurance company is trying to contact you, call your claim representative and ask her what you should do. Usually, your insurance company can discuss liability with the other party’s insurance company without you having to get involved. You don’t want to prematurely call the other insurance company and say something on tape that may cost you a better legal standing.
