Specialist insurance vital for “health tourists”

The Post warns against so-called health tourists, who need to complete a special travel insurance before going abroad for medical treatment.
The number of Britons taking advantage of faster processing and less expensive abroad has increased by about 30% annually, with more than 70,000 people choose to have cosmetic surgery or medical treatment abroad eclectic 2007.
However, postal survey, more than 25,000 people to compromise last year, failed to extinguish the appropriate insurance coverage.
Approximately one fifth of respondents said that they had thought to check their policy.
Sixteen percent of them took their existing cover for a further period of hospitalization to ensure medical care and the replacement flight home should be extended trip.
