AMERISAFE Announces Appointment of Chief Investment Officer

AMERISAFE, Inc. a specialty writer of high hazard workers’ compensation insurance, today announced the appointment of Brendan Gau as its Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer. Mr. Gau, age 34, will join the company June 23, 2009.

Prior to joining AMERISAFE, Mr. Gau was employed by AIM Capital Management in Houston, Texas, which he joined in 1996 as a financial analyst. He subsequently advanced to portfolio management, ultimately becoming Senior Portfolio Manager for thirteen investment portfolios comprised of assets exceeding $4 billion.

Mr. Gau graduated magnum cum laude from Rice University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts, and is a CFA charter holder and member of Phi Beta Kappa.
